Thailand starts drone project to improve agriculture

Prasert Jantararuangtong, the Minister of Digital Economy and Society, recently revealed that the ministry is going to start a large-scale initiative that will use hundreds of agricultural drones to distribute throughout 500 local communities. The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and the ministry are working together on the project, which goes by the name of the 1 Tambon 1 Digital project. By giving Thai farmers access to cutting-edge drone technology, the project aims to boost their productivity and efficiency. Communities will provide the remaining 40% through low-interest loans or village funds, with DEPA covering 60% of the drone costs as a means of supporting the farmers.
