The 9th Cycle of Accelerate Bootcamp conducted by Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) concluded with a Demo Day held virtually on 13 January 2023, on DARe's YouTube channel.<\/span><\/span> Poni Divers received an honorary certificate and was awarded ‘First Underwater Lion Dance in Brunei’ from the Brunei Book of Records.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n The event, which took place at Poni Divers' main diving operation center at Serasa Beach, involved a total of 14 divers, 10 snorkelers and one free diver. Poni Divers is excited to add an innovative twist to that cultural tradition and bring it to the underwater world, showcasing the beauty and diversity of marine life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n According to the Chief Executive Officer of Poni Divers, Mohd Tahsin Wong, they are very excited to be able to bring this unique and exciting event to the divers and to the public.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n “Not only this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our divers to see an underwater lion dance in the open sea, but it will also showcase the importance of marine conservation and the need to protect our oceans, putting Brunei on the map as a pioneer of interesting underwater diving community events,” he added.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n","url":"http:\/\/thailand.prd.go.th\/en\/content\/category\/detail\/id\/2087\/iid\/164455","date_published":"2023-03-08T13:51:00","image":"http:\/\/thailand.prd.go.th\/en\/file\/get\/file\/202303081fc384a79adb53d30a6e1163e8ecb33b135226.jpg"},{"id":"4d888d9f889f101849d90d79b91fae25","title":"BRUNEIAN STUDENTS AND TEACHER PARTICIPATES IN THE 12TH ONLINE ASEAN+3 CAMP ","content_text":" The Ministry of Education through the Centre for the Development of Gifted and Talented Education (EDGE) has coordinated the participation of students and teacher at the 12th Online ASEAN+3 Student Camp for the Gifted in Science dan 14th Online ASEAN+3 Teacher Workshop for the Gifted in Science organised by ASEAN+3 Center for the Gifted in Science (ACGS) and Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Technology (KOFAC) funded by Ministry of Science and ICT, Republic of Korea and supported by ASEAN Secretariat and Society of International Gifted in Science, Republic of Korea which was held online for five days on 07 to 08 January 2023 and 13 to 15 January 2023. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n
\r\nDemo Day held at the end of each Accelerate Bootcamp cycle, serves as an opportunity for participants to network with potential business partners and investors; as well as to explore market access and funding opportunities outside of traditional lending such as investment from investors and venture capitalists.
\r\n
\r\nA total of 20 start-up companies from various industries including ICT, sustainable industry, wholesale and retail as well as the service industry participated in the Accelerate Bootcamp program for 100 days.
\r\n
\r\nThe programme helps startups with high-growth potential to prepare for initial investment and market launch by providing resources and guidance.
\r\n
\r\nMore than 300 startups have participated in Accelerate Bootcamp, and have collectively raised more than BND3.25 million in investment since 2017.
\r\n
\r\nDARe runs two types of business bootcamps throughout the year, namely Micro Business Bootcamp and Accelerate Bootcamp.
\r\n
\r\nMicro Business Bootcamp is designed to build a solid foundation in entrepreneurs starting and running traditional micro and small businesses, while Accelerate Bootcamp focuses on startups with ambitions to scale quickly through investment and innovation.
\r\n
\r\nThe programmes includes workshops, masterclasses and individual consultation with local and regional business mentors covering various aspects of business innovation and strategy.
\r\n
\r\nAccelerate Bootcamp and Micro Business Bootcamp participants also gain access to the ecosystem of DARe initiatives, designed to support businesses at different stages of growth.
\r\n
\r\nThis includes financing, factory and office space, specialised training and market access.
\r\n

\r\nThe event started with a traditional lion dance with two lions from the Unity Charity Association on land, and continued with a team of experienced divers dressed in traditional lion costumes performing in the waters of Pulau Pilong-Pilongan, located 35 minutes from Serasa.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nA total of six students represented Brunei Darussalam which was divided into two teams under the supervision of Awang Haji Eddy Masirwan bin Haji Dolah, Education Officer from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan. Brunei Team A is represented by Awangku Md Aiman Bashyir bin Pengiran Mas Zaimuliani; Awang Joshua Hung Ji Chien; and Dayang Lee Jing Jing Year 10 students from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan. While Dayang Ting Pei Tong, a Year 11 student from Sekolah Menengah Chung Hwa (Bandar Seri Begawan); Dayang Rabi'atul Nur Qistina Aqilah binti Juperi; and Awang Arsh Hannan Qays bin Haji Suhardy both Year 10 students from Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar representing Brunei Team B. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nThe programmes are themed “Learning Together through Online Inquiry" and “Preparing Students for the Future". <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nDuring the 12th Online ASEAN+3 Student Camp for the Gifted in Science, Brunei Team A and Brunei Team B each won the Bronze Medal for the 'Best Presentation Award' and Brunei Team A won the 'Cultural Night Award' where the presentation video introducing the culture of Brunei Darussalam was selected as the best video by students from other countries. For the inidividual category, Dayang Ting Pei Tong from Brunei Team B was selected as the medal recipient for the 'Outstanding Student Award' while Awang Joshua Hung Ji Chien from Brunei Team A was selected as the medal recipient for the 'Mascot Contest Award'.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nThrough the 12th Online ASEAN+3 Student Camp for the Gifted in Science, students have the opportunity to participate in various activities and sessions such as listening to keynote speeches from invited speakers, attending lectures and discussions in preparation for the students' presentation sessions. The students also shared two videos about Brunei Darussalam's culture.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nTeachers also had the opportunity to attend seminars, discuss and get new ideas related to education in addition to establishing a network among educators from the ASEAN+3 region through virtual sharing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\nThe students representatives also participated in the pre-camp programme which is the 2nd Global Online Science Camp held online on 27 August to 15 October 2022. During the pre-camp programme, the students from Team Brunei A (in the group event) and Dayang Ting Pei Tong from Team Brunei B (in the individual event) each managed to won the gold medals. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n
