A great number of people are expected to travel to Sanam Luang to pay their final tributes and bid farewell to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej during the Royal Cremation Ceremony. In order to facilitate the travel of the people who wish to attend the Royal Cremation Ceremony, free public transport will be provided.
Airports Authority of Thailand Public Company will arrange a special bus service from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Sanam Luang from 19 to 30 October 2017, between 06:00 and 18:00 hr each day. On Thursday, 26 October, which is the Royal Cremation Day, the bus service will be provided from 06:00 to 18.00 hr on the following day.
Another special bus service will be arranged from Don Mueang Airport to Sanam Luang from 25 to 29 October, between 08:00 and 17:00 hr.
On the Royal Cremation Day, the service will be provided between 08:00 and 24.00 hr. On this occasion, the Airports Authority of Thailand will also waive car parking fees at Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang Airport.
The BTS, or the Skytrain, will offer a free service on 26 October. On 25 and 27 October, the free service will apply only on the extensions from On Nut to Samrong Station and from Wong Wian Yai to Bang Wa Stations.
The MRT Subway will offer a free service on 26 October. On 25 and 27 October, the free service will apply only on the Purple Line. Airport Rail Link will also offers a free service from 25 to 27 October.
Boat operators will arrange a special boat service free of charge on 25-26 October, from 09.00 to 16.00 hr, and on 27 October, from 10.00 to 15.00 hr. On the northern side, the free boat service will be arranged at three piers: Ministry of Commerce, Nonthaburi, and Rama VIII Bridge. On the southern side, the free service will be offered at two piers: Sathon and Yot Phiman.
