Bor Sang Umbrella Village in Chiang Mai

Bor Sang is known in Thailand as the “umbrella village.” This very small village is located about 10 kilometers east of the city of Chiang Mai along Sankhampaeng Road. For well over 100 years, Bor Sang has been associated with the production of umbrellas made from saa paper derived from the outer bark of the mulberry tree.
