Thailand to Host the First Mekong River Commission Summit
Thailand will host the first Mekong River Commission Summit in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, on April 4 and 5. The Cabinet has given the green light to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to organize the summit, in cooperation with the Mekong River Commission Secretariat.

Thailand will host the 8th ASEAN Skills Competition during 18-24 November 2010. The competition is aimed at upgrading workers’ skills in the region to an international standard and promoting the development of vocational skills and work values among youth and skilled workers.

A Hotline to Receive Complaints and Questions on the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement
Starting on January 8, the Ministry of Commerce has opened a hotline to receive complaints and questions on the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA), which was fully implemented by six ASEAN members, namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand, on 1 January 2010.
