As the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is in preparation for the realization of the ASEAN Community in 2015, both Thailand and Vietnam are moving closer together to get to know more about each other.

Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul will represent Thailand in attending the 19th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM), which is scheduled for 26-27 April 2012, in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to Attend the Fourth Mekong-Japan Summit

After her official visit to China on 17-19 April 2012, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is scheduled to visit Japan from April 19 to 22 for the Fourth Mekong-Japan Summit. The Fourth Mekong-Japan Summit will take place in Tokyo on April 21. Attending the summit will be leaders from Japan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.
