Songkran Festivities in April

In April, “Songkran” is one of the most famous and fun-filled festival in Thailand. It is the Thai traditional New Year, which starts on April 13 every year and lasts for three days. April 13 is Maha Songkran Day or the day to mark the end of the old year; April 14 is Wan Nao, which is the day after; and April 15 is “Wan Thaloeng Sok,” when the New Year begins. Thailand's Elephant and Mahout Training School

The National Elephant Institute was founded as the Thai Elephant Conservation Center (TECC) in 1993. Subsequently in January 2002, in order to enlarge the scope of conservation efforts and address the issues facing Thailand's elephants, it was proposed that the TECC be renamed the National Elephant Institute.

Poi Sang Long Ceremony 2011

The Poi Sang Long ceremony is unique to Mae Hong Son province. A colorful spectacle to witness, it is perhaps one of the most delightful festivals in Mae Hong Son, attracting people from far and wide. This year the event will take place on 4-7 April 2011 at Pang Lor Temple in Mae Hong Son municipality.

Maiden Call of Queen Elizabeth Ship at Laem Chabang Port in Thailand

Thailand had the opportunity of welcoming Queen Elizabeth, the newest ship of the Cunard Line, when she made her maiden call to Thailand at the Laem Chabang deep-sea port in the eastern province of Chon Buri on 16 March 2011, as part of her world cruise.

Representative from Thailand Won Best Stage Presence Award from the ASEAN Television Charming 2011 in Vietnam
