The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) will set up the Main Press Center (MPC) and the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) to facilitate the operations of members of the media in their coverage of the royal cremation of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, scheduled for 14-19 November 2008.

HM the King Tells Judges to Strictly Follow Oath of Office

His Majesty the King yesterday advised a group of Administrative Court judges to strictly observe their oath of office and lead by example for the greater good of the country. The monarch's comment was made during an audience when judges swore before the King to carry out their duties with honesty and integrity.The King gave the judges his blessing, urging them to have the courage to do good deeds and wishing them success.

Presentation of the World Tipitaka to Japan as a Tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana

Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn will preside over the presentation of the international edition of the Tipitaka to 14 Japanese institutions during her visit to Japan from September 8 to 16. The presentation of the world’s first Romanized Tipitaka, or Buddhist scriptures, follows the royal faith of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra.

Government Promotes 116-day Unity Campaign

Prime Minister and Defence Minister Samak Sundaravej said provincial governors nationwide will receive flags to celebrate the government’s Mother Day to Father Day campaign on August 30. He said HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn will attend the ceremony of presenting flags carrying the royal emblems of Their Majesties the King and Queen together with the national flag to all provincial governors. The 116-day campaign is being held to promote national unity, and it runs between Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday on August 12 and His Majesty the King’s birthday on December 5.

The Queen Sirikit Institute of Sericulture to be Upgraded to a Department in Honor of Her Majesty the Queen

The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is in the process of upgrading the Queen Sirikit Institute of Sericulture to the National Sericulture Department, in honor of Her Majesty the Queen, who turns 76 this year.
