Major Principles for the Implementation of Royally Initiated Projects

Throughout more than 60 years of his reign, His Majesty the King of Thailand has initiated more than 3,000 projects, aimed at raising the standards of rural life and helping farmers to be self-reliant. The projects are classified into various categories, such as agriculture, water resources, the environment, occupational promotion, public health, public welfare, and communications. To achieve its aim, each of them is based on major principles suggested by His Majesty.

Returning Domesticated Elephants to the Wild: A Project in Celebration of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday

On the occasion of His Majesty the King’s 80th birthday celebrations, the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation, in cooperation with the private sector, is launching a project to return 81 domesticated elephants to their natural environment. The project is meant to pay tribute to His Majesty, who is very well aware of the need for environmental conservation.
