The 30th ASEAN Summit concluded on 29 April, with nine ASEAN leaders participating. Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha encouraged ASEAN members to go forward with stability and sustainability, highlighting a people-centered ASEAN. The Thai Premier also stated that ASEAN should build up concrete cooperation to reduce tensions in the region, and comply with international laws to maintain international peace and security. His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun is gravely concerned with the well-being of southern residents following the recent flood crisis and has frequently dispatched his representatives to the region to distribute aid. His Majesty the King granted an audience to Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha and other government officials at Amphorn Satharn Villa, Dusit Palace, where he presented the group with a monetary donation of 40 million baht to help with the rehabilitation of flood victims in 12 southern provinces, namely Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Pattani, Narathiwat, Trang, Surat Thani, Phatthalung, Krabi, Yala, and Satun.
