Thailands Red Flag Status Removed

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) recently disclosed that the United Nations International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) had removed a red flag against Thailand over safety concerns on 6 October 2017, following a recent ICAO field audit of the CAAT and subsequent evaluation in ICAO’s Montreal head office. Thai Airways shares then jumped as much as 8.7 per cent, while Bangkok Airways rose as much as 4.3 per cent on 9 October 2017.

Thailand Offers Humanitarian Assistance to Those Affected from the Situation in Rakhine State

Thailand has pledged five million baht (about 150,000 US dollars) as immediate humanitarian aid in Rakhine State to the Red Cross Movement, through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which is working closely with the Myanmar Government-led mission to help those in need in Rakhine State. It has also pledged five million baht via ICRC to those affected in Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh.
