Their Majesties the King and Queen, together with HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, inspected a military parade at Royal Plaza in Bangkok today, at which the revered and beloved monarch called for national conscience and unity with honesty, less bias and mercy to sustain national security, which is the ultimate goal of all Thais. His Majesty the King suggested that the Kingdom has maintained its sovereignty because all Thais have realized the Thainess and their duties to protect our independence and security. The military swore an oath before Their Majesties. The 13 battalions of Royal Guards also shot 21-gun salute, released 8,000 balloons with "Long Live the King" marked in silk, chanted "Long Live the King" three times and played the Royal Anthem in honor of His Majesty the King, who turns 80 on 5 December 2007.
