Thailand ladies Golf Association (TALGA) announces the hosting of the 24th Thailand Ladies Open during 9-11 February 2011 at Lakewood Country Club on Km. 18 Bangna-Trat Road.

Thailand Ladies Open is officially the first leg of the 2011 Ladies Asian Golf Tour (LAGT) which follows three other events held in Taiwan during the early weeks of January. So far six tournaments have been confirmed for the 2011 Ladies Asian Golf Tour to include Thailand, Japan, India, Indonesia, Hainan, and China. Overwhelming number of entries have been received but only 126 players from 14 countries, including four members of Thailand national team, are accepted in the field. They include 34 from Japan, 30 from Korea, 35 from Thailand, 20 from other Asian countries, and seven from USA and Europe. At stake is the prize money of US$ 135,000 and the champion's trophy from H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Although last year's winner of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Trophy, LEE, JUNG MIN , is not present to defend her title, several past champions from the LAGT such as PHATLUM, PORNANONG, SATTAYABANPHOT, ONNARIN, SMITH, LIBBY, CHUTICHAI, PORANI, SRISAWANG, NONTAYA and contenders from other tours such as LEE, MI RIM, NAKAYAMA, MINA, GULYANAMITTA, RUSSAMEE and SONG, AREE will be trying their best to capture the title. In the amateur division, the four national players will compete among themselves to win the trophy from the Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand to be the top Amateur Winner in this Championship.

A Pro-Am tournament will kick off the Thailand Ladies Open on February 8, at Lakewood Country Club at 7.30 am. and 12.30 pm. The Championship starts off at 7 am. from February 9. After 36 holes, the field will be cut off to the top 50 plus ties for the final round on February 11. True Visions will cover the last 9 holes of the final round live on TRUE VISIONS Sports channel 2, starting at 12.30 pm.
