Members of the public are invited to join the charity event in tribute to the 84th anniversary of His Majesty the King this Saturday.
The 14th Amari Watergate & BMW Thailand Charity Midnight Run will take place on Bangkok streets at midnight. It is the only race in Bangkok to be held at midnight. The event offers competitors a choice of two distances – 6 kilometers or 12 kilometers. The city streets will be closed and protected by a contingent of police and security officers, and supported along the route by local residents, shop owners, together with the management and staff of the Amari Watergate Bangkok. The atmosphere will be tremendous, with over 5,000 local and foreign runners.
The winners in the 12-kms.- races for men and women will graciously receive the Royal trophy of HRH Princess Sirindhorn. Winners in each age category, including the family team and the fancy team, will also receive a trophy, and everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a special commemorative medal. Amari Watergate Bangkok will celebrate with all the participants at a cocktail party afterwards at Henry J. Bean's Bar & Grill, at which there will be a raffle with lots of prizes.
All the proceeds from the event will go to charitable causes, firstly Chalerm Prakiat School, which supports the education of children whose parents have tragically passed away due to HIV infection; secondly, Baan Gerda, a children's village project in Lop Buri province that supports HIV-infected children; and thirdly, the Baht for a Better Life Project.
Entry forms can be obtained and purchased for 300 baht, and 1,000 baht. Participants who make an entry donation of 1,000 baht will be entered into the grand raffle and stand a chance to win airline tickets for domestic and international flights, and many other fabulous prizes like luxurious watches, and gift vouchers for accommodation and dining from Amari Hotels & Resorts Group and other establishments, together with a complimentary running shirt.
