Xinhua News Agency, Bangkok Bureau, is organizing an exhibition in commemoration of the 37th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations and the 80th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit.
The exhibition, scheduled for 31 July-9 August 2012, takes place at the second floor of Siam Paragon in Bangkok. The official opening of the exhibition “Xinhua Gallery” will be presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on Saturday, 4 August 2012 at 13.30 hr.
Her Majesty the Queen will turn 80 years of age on 12 August 2012. Thailand is holding special activities to celebrate this special occasion. Her Majesty the Queen paid an official visit to China in October 2000 as the representatives of His Majesty the King on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Thailand and China.
Both countries established diplomatic relations on 1 July 1975. Since then, Thai-Chinese relations have continued to develop in a healthy manner, and China attaches great importance to friendly cooperation with Thailand.
Among members of ASEAN, Thailand is the first country to sign a Plan of Action for the 21st Century with China, to establish strategic cooperative relations with China, and to sign a zero tariff agreement on the trade of vegetables and fruit.
