The Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation has announced the opening of Maya Bay, after being closed for natural restoration for two months.
Tourists will be able to visit the beautiful bay again, from now (1 October 2023) until 30 July 2024.
Maya Bay, in Krabi’s Hat Noppharat Thara – Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park, is one of the world's most famous marine attractions and landmarks.
It is known as the paradise of the Andaman. The bay was formed by the natural erosion and collapse of the cliffs, making the shape like a crescent moon surrounded by limestone mountains.
All visitors are also advised to follow the national park's regulations, which include no swimming in specified areas, no collecting sea creatures, and using only reef-safe sunscreen.
