The 2023 United Nations Thailand Annual Results Report shows comprehensive progress in accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as commitments to carbon neutrality, biodiversity conservation, and human capital investment in the industrial, corporate, and agricultural sectors.
The progress of the SDGs at the local level emphasizes participation of network partners in all 76 provinces. The Interior Housewives Association, for instance, is helping mitigate the effects of climate change (Climate Action) and emphasizing the development of action plans for the SDGs at the sub-level by helping 14 million households to have wet trash cans, which will reduce global warming and make it easier to manage waste separation at the source. As a result of this and other efforts, Thailand can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 550,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
Thailand is driving to transform toward a more equal, inclusive, and wealthy country in line with its national aims. Thailand is renowned for its efforts to reduce emissions, generate carbon credits, digitize the work force, upskill individuals with impairments, and reduce informality. In the spirit of leaving no one behind, it provides solutions to empower youth and women, promote human rights, protect migrants and refugees, and use digital healthcare solutions to reach even the most isolated areas.
