The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with popular collectible brand POP MART to welcome Labubu, their adorable furry mascot, to Thailand. This exciting collaboration marks the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese relations and kicks off the "Labubu Travels Thailand" project.
On 1-4 July 2024, the mascot will explore the vibrant culture and iconic landmarks of Thailand, focusing on the "5 Must Do in Thailand" strategy, which highlights five key experiences for visitors: Must Eat, Must See, Must Seek, Must Buy, and Must Beat. During Labubu's four-day visit, activities -including:
- Dining fresh seafood at Horsamut Restaurant by the Chao Phraya River.
- Riding an EV tuk-tuk to explore Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace.
- Enjoying a Thai massage at Wat Pho.
- Shopping at Siam Discovery and Siam Square.
- Purchasing souvenirs and watching Muay Thai match at Lumpini Stadium.
Labubu's adventures in Thailand are expected to generate significant interest among Chinese tourists, potentially attracting a large number of visitors in the long run. This aligns perfectly with the government's policy to facilitate travel for foreign tourists (Ease of Traveling) by waiving visas for those traveling from 93 countries and territories. This includes Chinese tourists, who are an important group for the Thai tourism industry, allowing them to stay in Thailand for up to 60 days.
