Thailand Prepares to Welcome Gumball 3000:
“120 Supercars in a Convoy with Global Celebrities from 17-20 September”

Thailand is gearing up to host the prestigious Gumball 3000 charity supercar rally, which will bring a convoy of over 120 luxury and vintage vehicles, along with global celebrities, to the country from 17 to 20 September 2024. The convoy will pass through 15 provinces, including Sa Kaeo, Prachinburi, Chachoengsao, Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Krabi, Phang Nga, Trang, and Satun.

This event is part of the 'Saigon to Singapore' route, which spans five Southeast Asian countries: Vietnam; Cambodia; Thailand; Malaysia; Singapore, over nine days (14-22 September 2024).

Gumball 3000, founded in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper, has evolved from a high-profile car rally into a philanthropic organization. Through its charitable foundation, it supports underprivileged youth via educational and recreational initiatives worldwide. Now in its 23rd edition, the rally has traversed over 50 countries. This year marks Thailand's second time hosting the event, following its debut in 2006.

The rally reflects the Government’s ability, under the leadership of Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, to swiftly implement policies aimed at promoting tourism and positioning Thailand as a prime destination for world-class entertainment events. This initiative seeks to attract tourists and generate significant revenue to benefit local businesses rapidly.

The event aligns with short-term economic stimulus policies focused on attracting high-value “Mega Events” and enhancing the country’s image through Soft Power, particularly in areas such as festivals, food, and tourism. Various public and private sector organizations, including the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Highway Police Division, provincial governors, Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA), Central Pattana Public Company Ltd., CDM Company Ltd., and Gumball 3000 Entertainment Ltd., are preparing to facilitate the convoy and ensure the safety of all participants throughout their journey in Thailand.

The Gumball 3000 event will feature over 250 global celebrities, including Gumball 3000 founder Maximillion Cooper driving a Lamborghini SVJ, accompanied by automotive influencer JWW. Other notable participants include French freestyle footballer Séan Garnier, American rapper Ja Rule, and numerous YouTubers and influencers. They will be driving some of the world’s most iconic supercars, including the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Ferrari 812 GTS, Ferrari 812 Competizione, Ferrari F8 Spider, Ferrari 575M, Maranello F1 (which will showcase the most diverse collection of Ferrari engines ever assembled), Lamborghinis, and the debut of the Tesla Cybertruck on Thai roads.

In addition to showcasing these cars, Gumball 3000 will host charity events in Thailand, highlighted by a charity football match and a freestyle football performance by world champion Séan Garnier. The event will also contribute over 1 million baht to renovate the floating football field on Ko Panyi in Phang Nga Province.

The Gumball 3000 rally not only brings excitement to Thailand’s roads but also showcases the country’s capability to host world-class events. It will stimulate the economy, create business opportunities for local communities along the route—particularly during the tourist season—and offer a platform for cultural exchange through Thai soft power on the global stage.
