The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is launching the new board game "Monopoly: Bangkok Edition" on 2 November 2024 at the 5th floor, Central World. This new edition will replace the traditional Monopoly streets with iconic cultural sites, landmarks, and attractions of Bangkok. It aims to highlight the city’s unique character, showcasing everything from street food to major tourist spots.
The Bangkok Edition will feature six brand-new, Bangkok-themed tokens:
— Mango Sticky Rice: A nod to Thailand’s most beloved dessert, this token captures the sweet essence of Bangkok’s culinary scene;
— Muay Thai Boxing Gloves: Representing Thailand’s national sport, this token celebrates the strength and agility of the country’s renowned martial art;
— A Suitcase: Perfect for the traveler at heart, this token symbolizes the adventures and discoveries that await them in every corner of Bangkok;
— A Moped: A familiar sight on the bustling streets of Bangkok, this token pays tribute to the city’s fast-paced, dynamic nature;
— A Backpack: Ideal for the backpacker exploring Bangkok’s hidden gems, this token highlights the city’s appeal to travelers seeking unique experiences;
— A Tuk-Tuk: The most iconic symbol of Bangkok, this token honors the vibrant, colorful tuk-tuks that zip through the city, offering a ride like no other.
This edition follows the success of the Phuket and Chiang Mai editions, making it the third Thailand-themed Monopoly game.
The edition will be available for purchase at Asia Books locations and their retail partners.
