Thailand celebrates the 2,000,000th Indian tourist arrival of 2024

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated a significant milestone with the arrival of this year’s 2,000,000th Indian tourist at Suvarnabhumi Airport on 16 December 2024. This achievement highlights the growing popularity of Thailand among Indian travelers.

Passengers arriving on THAI flight TG324 from Delhi were warmly greeted with traditional Thai garlands, representing the country’s well-known hospitality. Among them was the 2,000,000th Indian visitor, Mr. Chatan Gupta, who expressed great delight at the recognition.

Popular destinations for Indians are Bangkok, Phuket, Chon Buri, Krabi, and Phang-nga, as well as emerging spots such as Surat Thani and Kanchanaburi. Favorite activities include indulging in Thai cuisine, exploring the vibrant nightlife, relaxing on pristine beaches, enjoying massages and spas, and visiting historical landmarks.

India is one of Thailand’s most vital tourism markets. Its status is thanks to Thailand’s visa exemption policy, which allows Indian tourists to stay for up to 60 days, and the success of TAT’s marketing initiatives and collaborations with travel partners in the Indian market. These efforts aim at positioning Thailand as a premier destination for Indian travelers.
