Phuket tops Thailand's Tourism Revenue in 2024 generating USD14B

Phuket generated 497.5 billion baht (14 billion USD) in tourism revenue in 2024, making it the top-earning province in Thailand, according to the statistics of Thailand’s Department of Tourism.

Chonburi and Surat Thani followed, earning 316.8 billion baht (9 billion USD) and 119.1 billion baht (3 billion USD), respectively. Other high-ranking provinces included Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phang-Nga, Songkhla, Chiang Rai, and Kanchanaburi.

The Government has set 2025 as the “Golden Year of Thai Tourism,” promoting year-round travel while distributing income more evenly across major and secondary cities. The Department of Tourism is also improving tourism standards through the Homestay Standard Program to ensure high-quality experiences, build traveler confidence, and attract high-value visitors.
