6 Airlines offer discounted fares & increased flights for Songkran

Thailand’s Ministry of Transport has coordinated with relevant agencies to ensure that fares are reasonable and to facilitate travel during the Songkran holidays, from 11 to 17 April.

Airlines have agreed to reduce air fares by 30% from the ceiling price and to offer 124 additional flights, a total of 25,000 extra seats, on 11 popular routes, such as from Bangkok to Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Samui. Specially priced tickets will be available until 20 March, through airline websites, ticket counters, and call centers of Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Vietjet.

In addition, the State Railway of Thailand will add 26 round-trip trains on routes from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, and Yala. Also, the Transport Company will add 1,000 buses to accommodate 100,000 passengers expected to travel to their hometown during Songkran.
