Thailand has introduced the vision “PRO BIMSTEC” to achieve stability, economic growth, and sustainability in the Bay of Bengal region. 

The sixth BIMSTEC Summit will be a significant step in developing the region through the vision of a Prosperous, Resilient, and Open BIMSTEC (PRO BIMSTEC):
Prosperous—Accelerating poverty alleviation by promoting trade, investment, and sustainable development, and enhancing cooperation in all aspects;
Resilient—Increasing productivity in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, as well as enhancing preparedness for health crises;
Open—Promoting sustainable tourism by using a multi-stakeholder approach.

Bangkok Vision 2030: To achieve PRO BIMSTEC

As Chair of BIMSTEC, Thailand presents “BIMSTEC Bangkok Vision 2030,” aiming to build a Prosperous, Resilient, and Open BIMSTEC by 2030. The vision sets a clear direction and priorities for the Bay of Bengal collaboration in order to achieve peace, stability, economic growth, and sustainability.

The BIMSTEC Bangkok Vision 2030 is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Thailand’s vision of a Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economic model.
