Thailand nominates Doi Inthanon National Park as ASEAN Heritage Park

Thailand has proposed "Doi Inthanon National Park" as a new ASEAN Heritage Park during the 12th ASEAN Heritage Parks Committee Meeting, hosted by Thailand on 26–27 May, 2025, in Bangkok. The meeting welcomed representatives from all 10 ASEAN nations, the ASEAN Secretariat, biodiversity organizations, and observers from Timor-Leste.

Mr. Attapol Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, noted that ASEAN Heritage Park status brings international recognition, promotes eco-tourism, supports conservation, and strengthens regional and community cooperation.

Currently, Thailand has 10 designated ASEAN Heritage Parks, and this nomination reflects the country’s continued commitment to conservation, regional cooperation, and sustainable growth across the ASEAN region.
