The Thai Festival in Moscow 2025 concluded impressively on 3 August at the Hermitage Garden, attracting over 60,000 Russian and international visitors across three days. The event showcased Thailand's soft power, connecting people through culture and reinforcing Thailand's role as a gracious host nation.
The Government Public Relations Department presented the "Playful Thainess" exhibition featuring interactive activities including a "Play the News" zone with simulated NBT World mini-studio experiences, AI photo booths for traditional Thai costume photography, and DIY aromatherapy workshops. Over 8,000 participants engaged in these activities.
Surat Thani Rajabhat University, located in southern Thailand, showcased community specialties including Manorah-patterned fabrics, woven goods, turmeric soap, and GI products, generating overwhelming visitor interest. A private participant, Baan Suay Group, sold specialty pants and donated part of the proceeds to purchase rocking tricycles from factories run by disabled workers, which were then given to the disabled community —creating a meaningful cycle of sustainable economic support.
The Creative Economy Agency showed enhanced community products, including jewelry, aromatic candles, and tie-dyed scarves, attracting significant attention from the Russians.
The festival served as an innovative storytelling tool about Thailand, receiving warm feedback from the Russian visitors while emphasizing Thailand as a safe destination that addresses challenges through peaceful methods. The success reflects Thailand's proactive role in using culture as an international bridge, driving economic growth and enhancing Thailand's positive global image.
