According to the Department of Foreign Trade, Thailand exported approximately 6.37 million tons of tapioca from January to August 2025, generating 69.8 billion baht (2.16 billion US dollars) in revenue and marking a 36.7% year-on-year increase. This significant growth reflects a rising global demand for Thai tapioca and the country’s strong reputation for product quality.

This surge is attributed mainly to the Department’s efforts earlier this year in strengthening existing markets and seeking new ones, particularly China and Saudi Arabia.

Looking ahead, the Department will continue to expand Thai tapioca exports to high-potential markets such as Japan, the United Arab Emirates, North America, and Europe. It is also working to promote the use of Thai tapioca in various industries, such as pet food, chemicals, and paper. By the end of 2025, the Department’s target is to reach 7.5 million tons of tapioca.
