Scamming is a transnational crime and a significant threat, causing huge damage to people at all levels. The Government has made the crackdown on scammers a key priority within its national agenda.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced the results of the cybercrime suppression operation at a press conference on the “United Thailand Against Scammers” campaign held on 10 November 2025. For instance, police have already seized cryptocurrency from foreign fraudsters, returning assets valued at over 14 million baht (approximately 432,000 US dollars) to victims. Authorities also arrested the network of former Cambodian Senator Ly Yong Phat for allegedly laundering money linked to online scams. Assets worth more than 400 million baht (around 12 million US dollars) were seized in the operation.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of keeping the public informed and providing them with knowledge necessary to protect themselves from cybercrime.
