In response to the flooding situation in the southern region, the Government has coordinated all ministries to launch urgent measures to aid victims and accelerate the region’s recovery.
- The Ministry of Public Health is speeding up the restoration of Hat Yai Hospital so it can return to normal operations. The ministry plans to fully reopen services within one month. Two additional field hospitals have been set up, along with an outpatient service point at Central Hat Yai Department Store. Meanwhile, Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) units are visiting the affected areas and providing mental-health support to victims.
- The National Health Security Office (NHSO) is taking care of end-stage kidney disease patients. Mobile dialysis vehicles have been prepared for areas that are inaccessible. Hotline 1330 is monitoring patients in high-risk areas.
- The Ministry of Industry has issued debt recovery support measures, allowing SMEs to suspend debt payments, restructure debts, and apply for emergency loans at 0% interest for up to 500,000 baht (approximately 15,500 US dollars). Refinancing options are also available for severely affected businesses.
- The Ministry of Transport has provided vehicle inspection and repair, as well as free shuttle services on four routes connecting the Prince of Songkla University evacuation center to the airport and bus terminals.
- The Ministry of Education, through the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, has opened “Fix It Centers” offering repair services for motorcycles, electrical appliances, and equipment needed for work.
- The Ministry of Labor has implemented relief measures, including urgent employment, low-interest loans, repair of tools, and support for affected businesses.
