Minister of Tourism and Sports, Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, presided over the press conference announcing the opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games on 7 December 2025, at the Broadcasting Operations Center of the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand.

He stated that hosting the SEA Games this year marks Thailand’s return as host after 18 years. The country is fully prepared to deliver an impressive opening ceremony, blending Thai cultural heritage and artistic beauty, while providing opportunities for talented Thais to demonstrate their abilities on the international stage. Despite certain limitations, the performances will be designed to minimize environmental impact, aligning with the Green SEA Games concept.

The opening ceremony will also feature renowned artists and celebrities from various fields, adding vibrancy and joy to the event. A key highlight will be the lighting of the torch, which will incorporate advanced technology to symbolize sustainability without causing pollution. This innovation sets a new standard for Thailand in hosting international events.

The 33rd SEA Games opening ceremony will take place on 9 December 2025, at Rajamangala National Stadium, starting at 6:00 PM. The event will be broadcast live on NBT 2HD, T Sports 7, and PPTV HD36.
