A high-level Thai economic delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, is representing Thailand at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, being held from 19 to 23 January.
On the sidelines of the forum, the delegation met with the President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, to discuss support for Thailand’s economic development, the transition to a low-carbon society, job creation, and SMEs’ access to global investment.
The delegation also held discussions with executives from leading global technology and social media platform companies, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, TikTok, and HCL Technologies. The talks focused on expanding investment cooperation, advancing the digital economy and artificial intelligence technologies, and strengthening digital workforce skills for Thai entrepreneurs and professionals.
In addition, AWS, Microsoft, TikTok, and HCL Technologies were invited to consider co-organizing business events or breakout sessions during Thailand's hosting of the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings in October 2026.
