The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has launched 255 “BKK Cooling Centers” across 50 districts to provide free, air-conditioned spaces where people can escape the summer heat and reduce risks from heat-related illnesses. The centers are especially intended for people who spend long hours working outdoors and voluntary groups, such as a delivery riders, the elderly, children, and individuals with medical conditions. Each center provides drinking water, a resting area, basic medical supplies, and an emergency support system.
The service centers will operate from mid-March to April 2026, when the heat index is expected to be at its highest, between 10.00 and 15.00 hr.
