Prime Minister's Message on the Occasion of International Women's Day 2026

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul cited women’s rights, equality, and dignity as fundamental pillars of a democratic society and sustainable development.

In his message delivered on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the Prime Minister stated that 8 March each year is observed globally as International Women’s Day. He would like to extend his best wishes to Thai women across the country, as well as to all those working in the field of women’s development, as they have joined hands in playing a vital role to move Thai society toward progress with high quality.

International Women’s Day is not merely a day for celebration. It is also a day designated by the international community to remind people that women’s rights, equality, and dignity are essential foundations of democratic societies and sustainable development.

Throughout history, women around the world have struggled for equal recognition in families, workplaces, and public spheres. Today is therefore not only about remembering those struggles, but also about continuing efforts to ensure tangible progress. A strong society is one where people recognize each other’s value and support the use of those values in contributing to social development.

This year, the Government has adopted the theme “Women’s Rights, Justice, and Voices: Toward a Society that Leaves No One Behind.”

The theme reflects the importance of supporting women to stand equally in society, to fully realize their potential, and to have opportunities to participate in shaping policies and directions for national development.

The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that Thai women possess tremendous potential, whether as leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, farmers, workers in all professions, or as mothers and family caregivers. Every role is valuable and contributes to strengthening and completing Thai society.

He said, “On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I would like to extend my best wishes to all Thai women for happiness, good health, and strong spirits. May you have confidence in your own worth and move forward with pride, serving as role models and inspiration for girls—our daughters and the next generation—who will grow up to become an important driving force for our nation in the future.”
