Thailand Acts Fast to Support Travelers Affected by Middle East Unrest

Minister of Tourism and Sports Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn chaired an emergency meeting on 9 March to assess the impact of regional instability in the Middle East on tourism and provide urgent assistance to affected foreign tourists.

Key measures now in place:
✈️ Airlines are being coordinated on flight adjustments and cancellations

🛎️ Tourist Assistance Centers (TACs) at major airports are on hand to support affected travelers

📋 Immigration authorities are ready to process stay extensions for visitors unable to depart as scheduled

🏨 Hotel operators are being encouraged to offer flexible rates for stranded guests

Thailand welcomed over 6.54 million visitors and generated approximately US$10.1 billion in revenue in the first two months of 2026 — and protecting that trust remains a top priority.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is committed to ensuring every visitor feels safe, supported, and welcome, no matter the global circumstances.
