The Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai Province is inviting travelers to experience the enchanting bloom of the kalapapruek tree, now at its peak and expected to last to the end of March.
Also known as the Pink Shower Tree, or scientifically as Cassia bakeriana Craib., this species belongs to the Fabaceae family. It is a medium-sized deciduous tree, typically about 10-20 meters tall, with wide-spreading branches that provides generous shade. Its blossoms grow densely along the branches, beginning as deep pink flowers, gradually fading to lighter pink and white—creating a stunning natural gradient on each tree.
The place to enjoy these delicate blooms is along the park’s skywalk, which starts from the Shaded Paradise zone. Visitors can stroll beneath rows of kalapapruek trees in full bloom, where the soft pink and white flowers contrast beautifully with the surrounding lush greenery and the blue sky.
Beyond the seasonal spectacle, the park offers a variety of attractions, including the Royal Pavilion (Ho Kham Luang), Flora Glasshouse, Orchid Pavilion, Rose Paradise, Desert Plant Glasshouse, Shaded Paradise, International Gardens, and Bug World. For those wishing to extend their visit, Rajapruek Place Hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the Royal Pavilion.
The Royal Park Rajapruek is open daily from 08.00 to 18.00 hr. For more information, please visit the official website: https://www.royalparkrajapruek.org/.
