3 Stranded Thai Crews Reached; Thai Oil Tanker Passes Hormuz; Thailand Affirms Sufficient National Supply

Ministry of Commerce Monitors Product Prices and Plans to Add More Controlled Products
∙ Product Price Monitoring Results
The Ministry of Commerce reported the result of nationwide product price monitoring during 5-24 March 2026. 2,726 shops were monitored, while 14 gas stations found guilty as they did not show product price. In addition, the Department of Internal Trade reported that during 1-24 March 2026, the department received 372 complaints, completed 137 complaints, and charged 18 cases. Furthermore, there occurred 33 complaints regarding overpriced products being under investigation.
∙ National Product Supply Situation
The Ministry affirms that national supply is still sufficient. Some product price such as pork, chicken, egg, product packing are increased due to an increase of logistics and resource prices. In this regard, the Ministry has coordinated with other related agencies to handle cost of living issue.
∙ Addition of Controlled Product List
The Ministry held a meeting to add more 12 controlled products resulted in a total of 71 controlled products. The final decision will be made by the Cabinet on 31 March 2025.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs Continues Evacuation amid Ongoing Tension
∙ Update on Middle East Situation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated the Middle East situation which attacks still continues.
∙ Thailand’s Effort on Thai Nationals Evacuation and Safe Passage through Strait of Hormuz
The Ministry reported that a total of 1,486 Thai nationals has been evacuated. The Iran-Oman joint operation team has reached the three remaining Thai crew members on the Maayooree naaree vessel. Further updates on their condition to follow. The Minister also announced that Iran has granted a Thai oil tanker safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz. All eyes are now on the safe return of another Thai vessel.
