The Joint Management and Monitoring Center for the Situation in the Middle East held a press briefing on 3 April 2026
Speaker:
Ms. Natta Mahatthana, Spokesperson of the Joint Management and Monitoring Center for the Situation in the Middle East

Safety alert issued for Thais in Israel, with confirmed stable fuel supply during Songkran and nationwide cost relief measures underway
• Security Situation and Advisory for Thai Nationals
The spokesperson highlighted ongoing uncertainty in the United States’ position regarding sanctions, with no clear timeline for escalation or easing. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom hosted a meeting with over 40 countries—excluding the U.S.—to explore diplomatic solutions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and managing post-conflict tensions.
Of concern is the escalation of attacks, including Iran targeting U.S. technology companies in neighboring countries and issuing threats against companies in Israel, where a significant number of Thai nationals reside. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Thai citizens to closely monitor official updates, reaffirming that the government prioritizes the safety of Thai nationals in Israel.

• Energy Situation and Songkran Preparedness
The Ministry of Energy confirmed that the current energy situation remains stable, with sufficient oil supply and continuous procurement. During the Songkran festival, no fuel shortages are expected under normal consumption levels.
As a precaution, the Ministry of Transport has prepared contingency plans, including mobile fuel transport units to support areas with unusually high demand.
• Cost of Living Support Measures
The Ministry of Commerce is strictly monitoring prices of goods and services. Businesses are required to clearly display prices and are prohibited from overpricing or stockpiling goods. Violations can be reported via the Department of Internal Trade hotline (1569).
Additionally, the “Blue Flag” low-cost campaign is being held from 2–10 April across Bangkok and regional areas to help reduce living expenses.
• Public Communication and Transition Period
The spokesperson noted that the Center will conclude its operations along with the current administration during the government transition period. If further press briefings are not held, the public is encouraged to follow updates directly from relevant agencies:
* Ministry of Energy (fuel situation)
* Ministry of Foreign Affairs (overseas safety)
* Ministry of Commerce (goods pricing)
* Ministry of Finance (relief measures)
The Center’s official Facebook page will continue to consolidate and share useful information for the public.
