Airports of Thailand (AOT) is preparing for one of the busiest travel periods of the year, with 3.7 million passengers expected across its six major airports during the Songkran 2026 holiday, a 2.3% increase from last year.
To ensure smooth, safe, and seamless travel, AOT is rolling out free parking at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, and Hat Yai airports throughout the festive period.
Passengers can also look forward to enhanced services across the board, including self-check-in kiosks (CUSS), self-baggage drop (CUBD), and biometric facial recognition for faster boarding. Shuttle buses, Airport Ambassadors, and multilingual interpreters — covering Korean, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, French, Arabic, Vietnamese, and more — will be on hand to assist travelers every step of the way.
A 24-hour Passenger Facilitation Center will be operational throughout the holiday, while immigration staffing has been boosted to speed up passport control. AOT is also coordinating with public transport operators to ensure seamless connectivity to and from all airports.
Security measures have been tightened to give passengers added peace of mind during their journey.
With the measures in place, travelers can expect a smoother and safer airport experience throughout the Songkran holiday period.
