Thailand's Tropical Fruits Make a Big Impression in China

Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has reported strong results from its "Thai Fruits Golden Months" promotional campaign, held across Guangzhou and Kunming in April–May 2026, with projected sales exceeding THB 220 million (about USD 6.8 million).

• In Guangzhou and Shantou, DITP partnered with Pagoda, CP Fresh, and Miniso to run a series of offline and online sales events under the theme "Thailand: The Land of Tropical Fruits." A joint campaign with Miniso's popular IP character — reimagined as "Coconut DunDun" — reached over 70 million views on social media, driving strong awareness among younger Chinese consumers.

• In Kunming, Thai SELECT restaurants at Tongde Mall showcased innovative dishes featuring Thai fruits, attracting hotel operators and food business owners. A live durian-selling session in partnership with CP Yunnan and local KOLs generated approximately THB 950,000 (approximately USD 29,500) in sales.

Looking ahead, Thailand's Ministry of Commerce plans to expand the campaign to three major cities and eight secondary markets in western China in 2026, tapping into new consumer bases for Thai fruit exporters.
