Thailand is Rolling Out More Than Just A Red Carpet at Cannes 2026

From 12–23 May, Team Thailand is making a bold statement on the world stage at the Cannes Film Festival. And it's not just about glamour.

Led by Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun, alongside Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised and Thai global artist Kunpimook Bhuwakul, or BamBam GOT7, Thailand's pavilion (Booth 112) is nothing short of a creative economy showroom.

The message is clear: Thailand is no longer just a filming location, it's becoming Asia's content production hub.

● Two Thai films are featured at this year's festival — 9 Temples to Heaven (Directors' Fortnight) and What Do You Seek in the Dark? (Critics' Week) — proving Thai cinema is ready for the world.

● A landmark Cash Rebate of up to 20% for foreign companies producing digital content in Thailand, covering animation, VFX, gaming, and post-production, signals serious intent to attract global investment.

● With initiatives such as Thai Pitch, Thai Cinema Global Showcase 2026 in partnership with Deadline, and a united push from multiple ministries, Thailand is taking a page from South Korea's K-Content playbook.

In a world where the best storytellers hold the most economic power, Thailand is making its move.

The red carpet at Cannes isn't just for the stars, it's paving a golden path for Thailand's creative future.
