Thai PM Rallies Team Thailand Europe for a Stronger Global Push

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul recently chaired Thailand's first-ever meeting with Thai ambassadors and consuls-general across Europe in Paris, France — a conversation that lasted over three hours and set the tone for a bold new chapter in Thai diplomacy.

Key priorities on the agenda:

• Thailand–EU FTA — Accelerating negotiations to remove trade barriers and open European markets to Thai goods and raw materials, with all agencies working in an integrated "cluster" approach.

• Proactive Diplomacy 2.0 — A tangible, results-driven diplomacy built on four pillars: security, economy, society & environment, and humanitarian affairs.

• OECD Membership — The prime minister has set an ambitious target to achieve membership within three years, down from the original 5-year timeline.

• Food & Energy Security — Positioning Thailand as a high-potential regional hub for food security, a priority shared across ASEAN.

• Global Spotlight — Thailand is set to host major international events, including Gastech 2026 in September, the World Bank–IMF Annual Meetings in October, and the World Health Summit in November.

Ambassadors noted that Thailand is firmly back on the international radar, not just as a manufacturing hub, but as a strategic economic partner strengthening global supply chains.

With a clear vision and a united front, Thailand is ready to take its place at the global table.
