TAT Strengthens “Trusted Thailand” to Boost Tourism Safety and Global Confidence

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is strengthening its Trusted Thailand initiative in line with the Government’s nationwide efforts to enhance tourism safety, improve service standards, and reinforce confidence among international travelers.

The move follows a national security policy meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul on 21 May 2026, which underscored cross-agency cooperation to improve safety, transparency, and quality across Thailand’s tourism sector.

The Ministry of Interior, the Royal Thai Police, the Ministry of Justice, and security agencies are working with local administrative organizations to strengthen prevention, intelligence sharing, and safety responses in key tourism destinations. At the same time, enforcement has intensified against unlawful tourism operators, particularly nominee businesses, illegal tour companies, and unlicensed guides.

As part of these efforts, TAT’s Trusted Thailand program promotes recognized standards for safety and service quality across tourism establishments, including accommodation, restaurants, shopping venues, and tourist attractions.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said that traveler confidence remains essential to Thailand’s long-term tourism competitiveness.

“Trusted Thailand helps translate national policy into practical standards across the visitor journey, supporting a tourism environment built on safety, fairness, credibility, and sustainability,” she said.

The initiative forms part of Thailand’s broader shift toward high-value, sustainable tourism, reinforcing the country’s position as a trusted destination for travelers and investors worldwide.
