Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will lead a high-level Thai delegation on an official visit to Vietnam on 8–9 June 2026, and attend the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) in Hanoi.
This visit follows the successful official visit to Thailand by Vietnamese President and General Secretary Tô Lâm on 28 May. It also marks the first time a Thai Prime Minister has personally attended the AFF, underscoring the importance Thailand places on both the forum and its relationship with Vietnam.
The delegation includes Deputy Prime Ministers covering Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Commerce, along with ministers for Defence, Energy, Tourism, and Industry, senior military commanders, and representatives from more than 10 leading Thai companies investing in Vietnam.
On the agenda:
● 8 June — Bilateral meetings with Vietnam's President, Prime Minister, and National Assembly Chairman, followed by a state dinner hosted by the Vietnamese Prime Minister at the Government Palace in Hanoi.
● 9 June — Opening ceremony of the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum at the Melia Hanoi hotel, followed by the Thailand–Vietnam Investment and Business Forum hosted by Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI).
This year's AFF is held under the theme "Shaping our Future Together: Peace, Prosperity, People-Centered" and will bring together leaders from Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Timor-Leste to discuss ASEAN's strategic direction in an increasingly uncertain world.
Thailand and Vietnam are turning a strong friendship into a real, results-driven partnership.
