Thailand Attracts 4 Billion Baht from Foreign Film Productions in First Half of 2026

Thailand is having a record-breaking year on the big screen. According to the Thailand Film Office, the country attracted more than THB 4.025 billion (US$124 million) in foreign film production investment from 302 international productions in the first half of 2026 alone, already surpassing half of all investment recorded throughout 2025, and putting Thailand on track for its strongest year yet.

Feature films, game shows and reality TV, and commercials led the way, with the United States, Hong Kong, Finland, Germany, and the United Kingdom among the top sources of investment.

So why are producers choosing Thailand? The Thailand Film Office points to the country's Film Incentive program, offering cash rebates of up to 30%, paired with diverse filming locations, highly skilled production crews, and full-scale production support — everything a crew needs, all in one place.

These strengths continue to reinforce Thailand’s ambition to become a regional hub for international film and content production while creating jobs, generating revenue, and supporting long-term economic growth
