Thai PM Heads to China to Strengthen Economic and Technology Cooperation

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul will pay an official visit to China from 16–20 July 2026, at the invitation of Premier Li Qiang, marking the 51st anniversary of Thailand-China diplomatic relations.

The tour will take the Thai Prime Minister to three key cities:
• Shanghai — courtesy call with President Xi Jinping, and the opening of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026)
• Chengdu — the Thailand-China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum, and the opening of a new investment division at the Royal Thai Consulate-General, expanding Thailand's investment promotion network into western China
• Beijing — bilateral talks with Premier Li Qiang, a meeting with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji, and the signing of key cooperation agreements

The visit aims to deepen cooperation in AI, science, technology, and innovation, as well as in trade, investment, and security, building on Thailand and China's comprehensive strategic partnership to deliver tangible benefits for the people of both nations.
