The Thai Cabinet has approved a new draft regulation, proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt, to expedite and streamline the deportation process for foreign nationals who break Thai law. The new measure addresses the current lack of a centralized administrative procedure for deportation and aims to protect national security and public order more efficiently.
Under the new regulation, foreign nationals can face fast-tracked deportation if they fall into any of these six categories:
• Illegal Entry/Stay: Entering or remaining in the Kingdom without legal authorization
• Illegal Employment: Working in the Kingdom in violation of foreign employment laws
• Illegal Business Activities: Engaging in business operations that violate foreign business laws
• Document Fraud: Forging official documents or using fraudulent government documents.
• Serious Crimes: Committing offenses punishable by imprisonment of 3 years or more
• Accomplices: Serving as a principal, instigator, or supporter of any of the aforementioned offenses (1–5).
The regulation reflects the government's broader push to tighten immigration enforcement and ensure that foreign nationals who threaten Thailand's legal and safety standards are removed swiftly and systematically.
