Prime Minister Anutin to Host Official Visit by Myanmar President U Min Aung Hlaing 6-7 August 2026

President U Min Aung Hlaing of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar will pay an official visit to Thailand from 6–7 August 2026, at the invitation of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.

Marking the President's first official visit since taking office, the trip reflects the close neighborly ties between Thailand and Myanmar and offers an important opportunity to deepen bilateral relations—particularly on security, public well-being, and cooperation within ASEAN.

Prime Minister Anutin will formally welcome President U Min Aung Hlaing at Government House with an official ceremony and guard of honor, followed by bilateral talks between the two leaders to explore ways of further strengthening cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

The visit will also include the signing and exchange of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between Thai and Myanmar agencies, along with a ceremony marking Thailand's handover of assistance to Myanmar. In the evening, the Prime Minister will host an official dinner in the President's honor.

On the sidelines of the visit, both leaders will attend the Thailand–Myanmar Business Forum 2026, held to mark the occasion. The forum will serve as a platform to promote economic and investment cooperation, while fostering stronger networking between the private sectors of both countries.
