The Office of the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, led by Deputy Secretary-General Pol. Lt. Col. Siripong Sritula, joined local authorities for a field inspection of at least eight hotel establishments in Phuket applying for operating licenses under the Hotel Act 2004. The visit aimed to verify regulatory compliance and streamline the licensing process.

The inspection team reviewed building conditions, operational standards, and legal requirements across the properties to ensure accurate processing and full adherence to the law.

Officials also engaged directly with hotel operators to better understand administrative hurdles and licensing bottlenecks, working alongside relevant provincial agencies to identify practical, efficient solutions.

Based on its findings, the agency issued recommendations to improve procedural transparency, cut unnecessary bureaucratic delays, and prevent the misuse of discretionary power. The measures were aimed at strengthening public trust and supporting economic growth.

By refining the licensing process, Thailand aims to build a more transparent business environment, one that supports the growth and quality of its local hotel industry.
