Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, delivered a statement on behalf of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the Open Session of the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in New Delhi, India. This year's summit was held under the theme "Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability: Shaping the Future for Inclusive Global Growth."

In his statement, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that in a multipolar world where international rules are being reshaped, Thailand stands ready to help chart the direction of the global order alongside other developing countries, ensuring that the voice and interests of the Global South carry real weight in setting the global agenda.

He pointed to Thailand's proactive role in South-South cooperation, highlighting the Thailand-Africa Initiative, the Global Partnership against Online Scams, aimed at establishing a global mechanism to combat online crime, and Thailand's advocacy for wider access to green finance, including through the New Development Bank, to support climate action.

The Deputy Prime Minister also proposed strengthening the linkages between BRICS and ASEAN, particularly in food security, supply chains, and the digital economy. He reaffirmed Thailand's readiness to serve as a bridge between the two regions, connecting their respective strengths and amplifying the collective voice of developing countries on the world stage.
