Vietnamese media have hailed the State Visit of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Her Majesty Queen Suthida as a landmark moment in half a century of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam. Coverage by the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Vietnam Plus, Báo Tin tức và Dân tộc, and Vietnam News focused on three themes: the historic significance of the visit, the enduring friendship between the two nations, and the deepening of bilateral cooperation.

VNA and Báo Tin tức và Dân tộc highlighted the official welcoming ceremony in Hanoi on 15 September, where General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, together with his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly, received Their Majesties, marked by a 21-gun salute from the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The three-day State Visit, from 14 to 16 September, was undertaken at the invitation of President To Lam and his spouse. As Vietnam News noted, it is the first State Visit to Vietnam by the Thai King and Queen, following His Majesty's earlier visits in 1992 and 1997 as Crown Prince.

The visit was also framed within the wider arc of Thailand–Vietnam relations since diplomatic ties were established in 1976. Vietnam Plus described a friendship built on a high level of political trust between leaders and peoples alike, with cooperation extending across governments, parliaments, businesses, local administrations, and people-to-people exchanges — underpinned by Thailand's standing as Vietnam's largest trading partner within ASEAN.

Economic ties featured strongly in the coverage. VNA reported that Thailand holds 813 active investment projects in Vietnam, ranking eighth among 153 foreign investors and second among ASEAN investors, with capital concentrated in processing and manufacturing, energy and utilities, real estate, and wholesale and retail. Reports also pointed to expanding cooperation in defence and security, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in May 2025.

The visit caps a year of sustained high-level exchanges, including President To Lam's official visit to Thailand in May, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's visit to Vietnam in June, and the visit by National Assembly President and Speaker of the House of Representatives Sophon Zaram in August. Against this backdrop, Vietnamese media have portrayed His Majesty's State Visit as a defining occasion — one that reaffirms a longstanding friendship and lends fresh momentum to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
